Biography / Born in Wales 1976, Ted Hunt is an independent speculative / critical / discursive designer living and working in London who designs for 'the complex, troubled people we are rather than the easily satisfied users and consumers we are supposed to be'.

Originally trained as a graphic designer Ted quickly moved into web/screen design of the early internet working with the pioneering London digital agency and collective Lateral.net [1998-2007], during which time he designed the first website to be released as a single by a record label [Heavenly Records: HVN 100]. Between 2007-11 Ted worked as a key member of the small in-house creative team at the internationally renowned brand innocent under Dan Germain and Richard Reed. From here he founded the independent advertising and marketing consultancy this is helpful, increasingly working on cultural projects such as The Philosophers Mail and Art as Therapy directly with Alain de Botton and The School of Life.

Ted Hunt is an invited resident of Somerset House Studios and his work has been commissioned by, and shown at, London's ICA, Royal College of Art, Southbank Centre, Dulwich Picture Gallery and internationally by National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of Ontario, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Vitra Design Museum, MAK Vienna and the Vienna Biennale 2017. As part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad Ted collaborated with renowned UK art organisation Artangel as part of the Ideas For London / Living Architecture open commissions upon a performance and public engagement work entitled 100 Conversations.

Ted's work currently explores the boundaries between subjective, objective and inter-subjective interpretations and perspectives, along with ongoing endeavours to actively couple design with philosophy and modern technology with ancient wisdom.
